I think the MLB needs to find the line between enforcing class and impeding on free speech.  I guess I understand why players get find for dissing referees/umpires in professional sports, but for speaking out politically?  Not to be cliche, but America was founded on the principles of freedom and tolerance in 1776.  I don’t personally think the Founding Fathers would like the fact that baseball, America’s proud pastime and a symbol of our country, limits the free speech of its players and managers on their political views.  We don’t mind if someone in the league is black, white, Indian, Asian, or Caribbean.  We don’t even mind if they’re American.  We don’t mind if they’re Christian, Muslim, or Jewish.  But we mind that they’re leftist?  What’s the deal with that Selig?  Grow a pair and let Ozzie be Ozzie.  Suffocating a source of vibrant entertainment isn’t too good for publicity Bud.
